Inclusivity should be a priority in becoming a centre where everyone feels safe and welcome. For that reason, the BSC Building has three gender-neutral bathrooms (not assigned to a specific gender), which are indicated by the trans inclusive sign.
Why is it important to have gender-neutral bathrooms?
The existence of gender-neutral bathrooms is crucial for various queer communities and has several benefits for all staff, such as:
- Providing a safe space for trans, non-binary, or gender-nonconforming individuals
- Exemplifying the BSC's commitment to respecting all forms of gender identity and expression
- Providing a place for non-women caregivers to access the baby changing station, which was previously located in a women's restroom
